It is set during the time prior to Rogue One, Diego Luna is back in play as the character of Cassian Andor an agent of the enemy who plays an important role during the beginning days of the Rebel Alliance against the totalitarian Galactic Empire.

Particularly the fact that we’re five years ahead of the events in that film Expect plenty of drama and tension throughout the course of the seasons.
