The fourth episode of Chainsaw Man begins with a brief introduction to Power’s background story which involves Meowy along with The Bat Devil. After her outing was over, Power is seen running along the street. Power wonders why she’s spending her time trying to save cats. She is determined to be able to help save Meowy because she is enthralled by how nice it feels to be in her blood.
At that moment, Power wakes up to Denji holding her, as well as Meowy. Denji tells her through gestures of hands that he saved her to touch her chest. Power says to Denji she can rub her chest, however, before Denji could do that move, One of his arms is cut off and eaten by Leech Devil. Leech Devil. Denji is asked by Power to see if she’s able to move, and she replies barely an inch. Denji is trying to change to Chainsaw Man but can’t because she’s run out of blood.
Denji is approached by the Leech Devil and she is angry because Denji killed her lover The Bat Devil. It is believed that the Leech Devil will release her off the hook in the event that he becomes her new boyfriend however, she isn’t planning to leave Power and Meowy remain. Denji does not want to be a part of the fight and begins a battle with the worm devil. The devil of the worm ridicules Denji. She says that she along with Denji and the Bat Devil shared a dream of the desire to kill and eat all humanity. Denji declares that he will not ever stop fighting.
They continue to fight. After a few blows, the Leech Devil is able to stab Denji in the chest using her tongue. Before she was able to devour her, Hayakawa stepped in and summoned a demon fox. He tries to liberate the fox Denji away from Leech Devil’s clutch by having it eat the Leech Devil’s head. The fox requests Hayakawa if they are allowed to eat his Leech Devil and Hayakawa permits the fox to eat it.
Hayakawa confirms the eradication of the Leech Devil alongside 3 Public Safety operatives. He assigns the newcomers the job of safely evacuating all people away from the scene. Hayakawa is able to grab Denji and will have him and Power informed. He instructs someone to take Meowy to the vet to be examined. Denji awakes on a bed in the hospital. Hayakawa informs Denji that doctors have repaired his arm.
Denji criticizes Hayakawa for being friendly to the devil wolf. Hayakawa, however, informs him that Devil Hunters form contracts with devils to take on them. Hayakawa offers the blood of his victim in exchange and his fellow Fox Devil offers him its power. Hayakawa confirms they’ve been monitoring Denji as well as Power’s movement via surveillance cameras.
He discovered the Bat Devil’s residence was home to the blood spilled by Denji. Hayakawa has suspicions about Denji as well as Power. But, he remembers the time he spent talking to the people Denji has saved from Bat Devil. Hayakawa assures Denji that If he listens to him, he’ll not reveal Power or Makima and the top-ranking officials. Denji agrees to Hayakawa’s suggestion when Hayakawa goes out of his room to release the Power of her handcuffs.
One of Hayakawa’s allies isn’t certain if it’s the right decision to put their trust in Power However, Hayakawa insists on giving them another chance. The next morning, Hayakawa visits Makima and informs her of what has transpired with Denji, Power, and the Bat Devil. Maxima acknowledged Hayakawa for his account. Mama informs Hayakawa that it was peculiar to note that Denji and Power were further from the route they were assigned.
Hayakawa gives an excuse to excuse the two, however, Makima claims that leaving the designated zone is against the rules. Hayakawa claims that Makima isn’t able to overlook the incident since nobody died and they even defeated two demons. Before he leaves, Makima notices that Hayakawa’s getting affected by his personality of Denji, but he denies the idea and then leaves.
At dawn, Hayakawa and Denji go through their day. At once, Power breaks Hayakawa’s door and says that his home is a mess. Maxima says to Hayakawa that she’s compelled Power to share a home with Power and Denji. Maxima believes it’s not right to allow Power to live in the workplace. Power assured her that she’d be at her best. However, it was a lie, since Power created Hayakawa and Denji several issues.
In the evening, Power enters the bathroom as Denji takes care of the bathroom. Power reminds Denji about their flirty bargain. She offers Denji three attempts to squeeze. While she wasn’t planning to allow Denji to touch her chest area, she explained the reason. The episode ends with Denji affirming her Power for herself as an angel.
The Episode Review
This episode of Chainsaw Man had a nice mix of action and thrills as well as a bit of humor. Watching Denji take on an evil devil with no skills was amazing and amazing. The show also showcases Hayakawa’s talents. It’s interesting to note how much Hayakawa’s friendship with Fox Devil mirrors Denji’s companionship with Pochita. This makes you wonder about the motives behind their meeting.
In the meantime, Hayakawa is gradually growing in love with Denji’s company. Although he is still adamant about Denji being an uninformed child with horrible goals, he is impressed by his somewhat heroic nature. The fans will be interested to see how their relationship grows as the story continues. In addition to Hayakawa, Power developed thanks barely due to Denji’s heroic act in order to rescue her as well as Meowy.
In addition, there were some problems that this episode did not address. While the battle between Denji as well as the Leech Devil seemed impressive There were a few moments when Denji’s movements were sluggish and unnatural. The episode does its best to describe the way Hayakawa was able to track Power and Denji however, the scene seems a bit improbable. Mappa could have cut some slice-of-life scenes to provide us with more details on Hayakawa’s connection and his friend the Fox Devil.
Overall, it was a fun entry that featured dramatic fight scenes and jaw-dropping imagery. Although the ending will make viewers confused due to obvious reasons, it’s going to be interesting watching what the Hayakawa family fares against Power there. I hope the next episode will keep delivering stunning fight scenes and more lore.
