Dating Death: The Rodney Alcala Story
A man by the name of Rodney Alcala appeared on the well-known US program The Dating Game. He was picked from a pool of potential Bachelors selected by the show’s participant Cheryl Bradshaw but when she sensed something wasn’t right in the man, she decided not to attend the scheduled date. It’s good that she didn’t as Alcala was in fact serial murderer who carried out an assault and murder from the year 1968 until 1979, before being found guilty. The documentary traces his shocking behavior and the investigation into the crimes he committed.
Hostages
On the 4th of November, 1979 Iranian students stormed the U.S. embassy in Tehran 1979 and held more than sixty Americans hostage. They were protesting against the oppression of the U.S. by the Iranian people. However, what started as a sit-in lasting 48 hours became a global crisis and major media incident which lasted for 444 days. The documentary brings the devastating moment in world history to life with previously unreleased footage from the archives as well as interviews with hostages and the hostage-takers.

As a child, I was accustomed to hearing the phrases “got, got, want to exchange football-themed stickers with my friends. In this series comedy, the comedian Jack Whitehall and footballer Jame Redknapp bring card collecting to a new level. Instead of collecting soccer cards, Jack takes Jamie to collect sessions with real footballers instead.

Morbius (2022)
It’s certainly one of the least enjoyable comic book films that year. This dull film stars Jared Leto as Dr. Michael Morbius, a man who acquires superhuman abilities as he attempts to heal himself of an uncommon blood disorder. The idea is interesting, however the film itself is pretty boring and sloppy, with some baffling editing decisions and a noticeable lack of action.

Monday (2020)
Sebastian Stan and Denise Gough are two characters that meet up in Athens in the midst of a scorching summer. They then go on an intense weekend affair. The other half is then laid off from their jobs in order to keep the love affair, but can their love last beyond Monday? Watch to find out!

Souls: Season 1
In this latest mystery drama, The lives of three females are turned upside-down when the son of one of them is injured in a fatal car crash and later claims to have a memory of a previous time as a pilot on an aircraft for passengers.

Ambulance (2022)
In the action film, the two robbers rob an ambulance after committing a theft. Then, they pedal to the metal as they escape the police and cause chaos while racing around the streets of LA. The film is silly, but entertaining and will please those who want a constant adrenaline rush a film.

Poker Face (2022)
Russell Crowe directs and stars in this film about a billionaire in the field of technology who is playing a high-stakes Poker game with a group of his buddies. However, as the game progresses it is revealed that secrets have been exposed and a saga of revenge unfolds. There are no reviews available for this as of this point in time, however with a stellar cast that includes Liam Hemsworth, Elsa Pataky, and RZA This might be a movie that’s worth risking on.

9 Bullets (2022)
Lena Headey stars in this film that is not well-liked. She plays a burlesque performer who is on the run with her neighbor’s son after his family is murdered by a local crime lord. Will the two of them make it through?
Perhaps, but since some critics believe that the film has been poorly edited and scripted and edited, you might be enticed to shut it off before it gets to its resolution.
Brazil 2002: The Real Story
Following a humiliating loss in the final to France during the 1998 World Cup final, the Brazilian team returned home , but was ridiculed by both the media and their supporters. After four years they were invited to their first World Cup again and after defeating Germany by 2-0 in Japan the team was back home as the conquering heroes. This documentary chronicles their journey from their departure from Brazil as a public disgrace to a triumphant return home by winning their World Cup trophy.
Hurst: The First And Only
The new documentary explores how highs and lows were experienced by Geoff Hurst, including his famous hat trick from 1996’s World Cup final and the terrible personal losses he endured when he decided to quit the sport.

Aisha (2022)
Letitia Wright plays the young Nigerian woman who escapes persecutors and seeks refuge in Ireland. The chances for happiness are blocked by the government’s bureaucracy in Ireland’s immigration system however, her life begins to improve after she forms a bond with the convict (Josh O’Connor) in an asylum center. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Tribeca Film Festival over the summer and was highly assessed.

The Phantom Of The Open (2022)
in 1976 Cumbrian Shipyard employee Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance) was a participant in the British Open Golf Championship, in spite of having never played golf before in his life. As one would expect, Flitcroft’s performance was not great, much to the dismay of golf officials who believed that he was a professional. He was banned from entering the Championship again, however, Flitcroft using the help of some clever duplicity was allowed to play in the Championship numerous times.
A true story this is a humorous and inspiring movie with notable performances by Rylance as well as Sally Hawkins as his devoted wife.

The Reef: Stalked (2022)
Three friends head out to the Pacific Ocean for a kayaking adventure, but just hours after getting into the ocean their lives are put at risk by a huge white shark. The upcoming sequel to the movie of the same name The Reef doesn’t quite like its predecessor but it’s certainly more enjoyable than Shark Bait, which was a water-based thriller that failed to impress that debuted at Sky Cinema a couple of months back.
The Ghost of Richard Harris
The life of the famous Irish actor is being remembered by revealing footage of his family as well as interviews with actors who knew him as well as contributions by his sons.

The Northman (2022)

A Christmas Story Christmas (2022)
The 1983 film A Christmas Story is one of the mainstays of Christmas time in the US however it didn’t have any impact on the UK. It’s a shame because it’s among the most hilarious Christmas movies ever made and deserves to be seen by a larger audience beyond the States. If you’ve not yet seen it, I would suggest that you watch it in preparation for the sequel that takes place 30 years after the first.
Peter Billingsley reprises his role as Ralphie who in the film she yearned for the Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. As an adult, Ralphie returns to his former home to show his children the same unforgettable Christmas he had when he was a kid. Let’s hope that the new film is as entertaining as the 80s version, which includes some sort of scene featuring an innocent child having the tongue stuck on a flagpole frozen in an homage to the original film!
